HELP YOUR CLIENTS UNDERSTAND WHY THEY SHOULD BUILD WITH YOU.

You can have a capable team, a credible offer and quality work behind you — and still find yourself sending proposals, answering questions and wondering why clients have gone quiet.

Your clients may be making one of the largest financial commitments of their lives. They need to understand more than the finished project. They need clarity about the process, the price, their responsibilities and what happens when something changes. They need to know that you understand what they want and can be honest about what is achievable.

Win Their Trust. Win Their Project. helps you develop a consistent approach to those conversations — understanding the client, explaining your value, addressing concerns, and following through with clear next steps.

AI, templates and automation support the process. Your knowledge, judgement and communication remain at its centre.

ESTABLISHED BUILDERS WITH ACTIVE ENQUIRIES.

Designed for small residential building businesses delivering projects such as secondary dwellings, extensions, renovations and custom homes — where clients need guidance through a complex decision.

Solo Builder Handling Your Own Sales

You know the technical work, but explaining it to someone without a building background takes a different skill. Your focus: explaining what you know in language clients understand, addressing concerns and following up consistently.

Builder With A Salesperson Or Coordinator

You want your team member to understand the enquiry, ask the right questions and help clients progress without needing you in every conversation. Their focus: recognising the limits of their authority and knowing when to bring you in.

A Director Who Wants A Consistent Process

You want clearer responsibilities, more useful client communication and an approach your team can follow beyond the next individual enquiry.

LET'S BE CLEAR BEFORE YOU BOOK A CALL.

✓ This is a good fit if…
  • You already receive enquiries but don't have a consistent sales process
  • Clients regularly stall after a meeting, site inspection or proposal
  • You spend considerable time explaining the same things
  • You find it difficult to explain your value beyond the quoted price
  • Follow-up depends on someone remembering to do it
  • Your salesperson needs help applying their knowledge to real client situations
  • You have a credible building offer and the capacity to deliver the work you sell
  • You are willing to practise and apply the learning between sessions
✕ This is not the right starting point if…
  • Your main problem is a lack of enquiries
  • You need someone to sell, quote or manage clients on your behalf
  • Your product, pricing or delivery capability is not yet established
  • You want a guaranteed number of signed contracts
  • You cannot make time to apply the training

The program helps you improve your part of the client decision. It cannot remove factors such as finance, affordability, timing or project feasibility.

FOUR THINGS. DONE PROPERLY.

01
Understand The Client
Asking, Listening, Fit

Develop your approach to asking, listening and understanding what the client is looking for. Establish whether there's a suitable fit before either party invests more time.

02
Explain Your Value
The Building Journey

Make the project, process and responsibilities understandable. Help clients recognise what your business provides, what the proposal covers and what still needs to be established.

03
Address Concerns Honestly
No Pressure, No False Promises

Work through uncertainty and difficult conversations without pressure or promises you cannot deliver. Recognise when further information or your involvement is needed.

04
Follow Through Consistently
Clear Next Steps

Agree useful next steps and maintain communication while clients consider their options. Use practical resources, AI assistance and reminders to support the process.

SIX WEEKS. ONE PROCESS.

The emphasis can be adjusted to your business while remaining within the agreed training scope.

W1
Understand Your Process
Where Clients Stall

Review how enquiries are handled, who is responsible and where clients tend to stall. Establish a starting point for reviewing progress.

W2
Understand The Client
Asking & Listening

Work on your approach to asking, listening and establishing fit. Apply the teaching to your real enquiries.

W3
Explain The Journey
Translate The Technical

Practise explaining the process, responsibilities, uncertainty and the information clients need at each stage.

W4
Explain The Proposal
Address Concerns

Work through how you communicate value, scope and next steps. Review situations needing more information or your involvement.

W5
Strengthen Follow-Up
A Practical Routine

Develop a follow-up routine with clear responsibilities. Adapt resources and identify where AI or reminders could help.

W6
Review & Continue
Independently

Review what's changed, what still needs practice, and how your business will maintain the process going forward.

Jacqueline Valk — sales and client communication coach for residential builders
JACQUELINE
Founder, Builder Foundations · Founded & Sold The Pod Canberra

HELPING PEOPLE WITH SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE COMMUNICATE WITH EVERYDAY CUSTOMERS.

Jacqueline founded and sold The Pod Canberra. Her experience spans enquiries, proposals, estimating, contracts and client communication. At The Pod, she helped clients understand the building journey, worked through concerns, explained responsibilities and guided clients through the conversations leading to contracts.

She has also supported a building salesperson's development as that person took greater responsibility for client conversations and sales.

Earlier in her career, Jacqueline taught financial planners how to communicate with everyday customers without relying on financial jargon. Builder Foundations brings those experiences together: explaining complex decisions clearly, educating clients, and creating a process that supports consistent communication.

WHAT'S OUTSIDE THIS PROGRAM.

This is training, resources and feedback on your sales conversations — not a guaranteed number of contracts.

NEED IT BUILT FOR YOU?

If you need someone to build or configure parts of the supporting process — a custom email sequence, follow-up workflows, or agreed reminders and automations — we can assess that separately. You receive a separate scope and quote before committing. It is not included in the A$3,997 program.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS.

No. The program focuses on residential construction, where the client needs to understand a complex process and an ongoing relationship with the builder. The teaching is applied to your enquiries, proposals and client situations.
Yes. We focus on translating your knowledge into clear client communication, addressing concerns and following through consistently.
Yes. The price includes the director and one relevant team member. We work on their role, what they need to understand and when to involve the builder.
No. We agree who should attend based on the work being covered. The business still needs someone with authority available to resolve questions and support changes.
No. Purchasing decisions depend on factors beyond communication, including budget, finance, your offer and timing. You are purchasing training, resources and feedback — not a guaranteed number of contracts.
Depending on your starting point, we may review response times, follow-up completion, clarity of responsibilities and movement to agreed next steps. Signed work can be tracked over a longer period — six weeks of training is not a promise of a six-week construction sales cycle.
The program works around applying the learning. If you have no relevant client activity, addressing lead generation first or choosing a later start may be more appropriate.
Not necessarily. We start with your process and existing tools. Any configuration or implementation work is assessed and quoted separately.
Not within the training price. You receive guidance and adaptable resources. Bespoke writing and system implementation require a separate agreement.
AI supports tasks such as drafting and organising communication. The central teaching concerns understanding clients, explaining clearly and exercising sound judgement.
No. The A$3,997 package is delivered privately to your business. There is no cohort minimum, and you start individually.
There is no automatic subscription. If further help is appropriate and available, its scope and price would be agreed separately.
You can keep downloaded resources and the documents you develop for use within your business. Access to the learning materials ends after six weeks.
No — GST does not apply to the A$3,997 price at this stage.
Rescheduling, cancellation and refund terms are confirmed in your enrolment agreement, which you'll receive before starting. Ask about this directly on your fit conversation.

YOUR NEXT STEP.

We'll discuss whether the program fits your business — where your process gets difficult, and whether this is an appropriate next step. If it is, we'll confirm scope, schedule, payment and enrolment terms before you commit.
